The San Francisco 49ers might have a wide receiver problem on their hands.
Despite having one of the best rosters in the NFL last year, there is a chance that the 49ers could enter the 2024 season without some of their key contributors.
The 49ers have many player contracts to consider, and with the salary cap in mind, they can’t sign everyone to an extension this offseason.
This has caused some consternation between players and the front office, at least from an outsider’s perspective.
Players like Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings have yet to sign contract extensions with the team, and, as Pro Football Talk recently highlighted on Twitter, both players missed the opening days of team OTAs.

These events aren’t necessarily mandatory, but they help teams get back on the same page before a new season begins.
Aiyuk and Jennings might be holding out to get a better extension, but at the moment, they aren’t helping their team grow.
The 49ers made it all the way to the Super Bowl last year and are hoping for another great season in 2024 that culminates in them winning it all.
The NFC will be an interesting conference to watch in 2024, especially considering the amount of movement that occurred in the offseason.
San Francisco cannot afford to take a step back, but unless they work out some of these contracts, more players could decide to follow Jennings and Aiyuk’s example.
How will the 49ers handle this situation moving forward, given the star power of the players who are currently skipping OTAs?
