The New York Giants are exploring all their options right now.
Some rumors state that they’re not fully sold on Daniel Jones, and they’ve done their due diligence on multiple quarterbacks.
They’re slated to be on the clock with the No. 6 selection, and with the current picture, the top-four quarterbacks might be gone by then.
Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean they can’t get another franchise quarterback later in the draft, assuming that’s the case and that they won’t be able — or interested — to trade up.
With that in mind, they’ve hosted Oregon star Bo Nix and South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler for a visit, according to a report by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.
The #Giants’ pre-#NFLDraft work on QBs included #Oregon’s Bo Nix and #SouthCarolina’s Spencer Rattler making visits to East Rutherford this week, sources tell me and @RapSheet. They had already met with some of the top quarterback prospects, so they’re clearly assessing all their options.
Nix spent a lot of time in college and came with some red flags about his decision-making, but he made great strides since he transferred from Auburn to Oregon, and he did get a little better every year.
As for Rattler, he was once considered to be one of the best quarterback prospects in the game before falling from grace, losing his starting job to Caleb Williams, and then struggling to take care of the football.
Even so, the upside is most definitely there, and perhaps the Giants could be better off by bringing in some competition for Jones and giving him another opportunity to prove himself with a new weapon taken at No. 6, instead of trading a lot of valuable assets to get a replacement in the first round.
