The NFL quarterback carousel spun a little faster this week after four teams announced quarterback changes ahead of Week 17.
So once this week’s slate of games kick off, they’ll have been 62 different starting quarterbacks this season.
For reference, the 2022 season set the record for most starting quarterbacks in a season with 66.
The four moves made this week were: The Denver Broncos replacing Russell Wilson with Jarrett Stidham, the New York Giants replacing Tommy DeVito with Tyrod Taylor, the Washington Commanders replacing Sam Howell with Jacoby Brissett, and the Minnesota Vikings replacing Nick Mullens with Jaren Hall.

Three of the four moves appear to have been made because of production issues.
DeVito hadn’t looked good in Week 15’s loss to the New Orleans Saints and only completed nine passes before Taylor took over and almost led the Giants to a Week 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brissett, meanwhile, threw total three touchdowns with no interceptions after he took over for Howell late in the Commanders’ past two games.
Hall will replace Mullens after the Vikings veteran tossed four interceptions in a loss to the Detroit Lions.
It’ll be the rookie’s second career start after he played 11 snaps before he suffered a concussion in Week 9.
The Broncos’ move is a bit stranger considering Wilson was playing well before the team decided to bench him.
But multiple reports indicate Wilson’s situation is less about production and more about the structure of his contract.
Either way, the Vikings and Broncos are still technically in the playoff hunt, so these moves could either help or hurt their chances to make the postseason.
