The San Francisco 49ers will be facing a familiar foe in Week 5 of the 2023 NFL season.
They will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys at Levi’s Stadium.
The Cowboys are 3-1 entering this game.
They could have been undefeated like the 49ers if not for that collapse against the Arizona Cardinals.
But the Dallas defense has been spectacular, allowing only 7.25 points per game through four weeks.
Therefore, this should be an exciting matchup given the defensive prowess of both teams.
However, the Cowboys have an additional incentive to beat San Francisco because the 49ers have been their playoff tormentors over the last two seasons.
While the Cowboys might feel some animosity toward the Niners, Kyle Shanahan’s squad harbors none toward Mike McCarthy’s crew.
“Probably for them, not for us. We won, so we good,” 49ers quarterback Charvarius Ward said when asked about the potential bad blood between the 49ers and the Cowboys.
Is there any animosity between the 49ers and Cowboys?

Ward kept it cool because it was the Cowboys who drafted him in 2018.
They traded him to the Kansas City Chiefs where he won Super Bowl LIV.
He signed a three-year, $42 million contract to join the 49ers last season.
It will be up to Ward and San Francisco’s defensive secondary to slow down Dallas’ passing attack.
