The San Francisco 49ers have been struggling through some contract talks this offseason.
Most notably, the front office has been trying to negotiate a new contract with All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
There have been conflicting and differing reports off and on this offseason about Aiyuk possibly requesting a trade then the 49ers saying that they’re hoping to get a deal done.
According to the latest report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, San Francisco and the star wide receiver are not close on a contract extension.
“Don’t expect to see Aiyuk around for anything that’s voluntary and let’s see about the mandatory stuff,” Garafolo stated on The Insiders.
“The Insiders” is back on @nflnetwork, with the latest on Tua, Daniel Jones, Trevor Lawrence, Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins, Rashee Rice, CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, more.

If the 49ers don’t have Aiyuk in the building this year, they could be in some trouble.
Yes, they have studs and All-Pros all over the field in Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle.
But Aiyuk is the team’s best true wide receiver.
The 26-year-old is coming off of his best career season in terms of receiving yards (1,342) and yards per catch (17.9).
For Pro Bowl quarterback Brock Purdy to be the best that he can be, he needs every single one of his weapons on offense available to him in the biggest moments.
If there is a thought that Aiyuk isn’t worth an extension in the Bay Area, that is a terrible thought.
The former Arizona State star is an ascending player coming off of back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.
GM John Lynch and Co. would be wise to pay him before he doesn’t want to be there anymore.
