The Dallas Cowboys are in a predicament with multiple key players this offseason.
Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott, All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and All-Pro edge-rusher Micah Parsons are looking for major extensions.
Prescott might be the most important considering he plays the most important position on the field for one of the biggest brands in all of sports.
With the Pro-Bowler hoping to earn possibly $50 million per year at the very least, is there a chance that Dallas could elect not to pay him?
Former NFL wide receiver and current Fox Sports analyst Plaxico Burress believes Prescott may just play out this season without a contract extension.
“Jerry Jones has pushed all of his chips into the middle of the table…I’m not giving these guys $100+ million contracts if we’re not winning football games,” Burress recently said on The Carton Show.

Burress makes a very good point about paying players who aren’t winning games.
Prescott is a very good regular-season quarterback.
The three-time Pro-Bowler led the league in touchdown passes this past season (36) while guiding Dallas to 12 wins for the third consecutive season.
However, he has just two wins in the playoffs in eight seasons with the Cowboys.
That simply is not good enough.
Why pay a player over $50 million or $60 million per year just to play poorly when the lights are at their brightest?
It will be fascinating to see what Jerry Jones does with his best players and their futures as the 2024 season inches closer.
