The Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t know whether they would have their starting quarterback on the field last night.
Trevor Lawrence was deemed a game-time decision after suffering a knee injury late in their win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
He didn’t practice and would just try and give it a go before the game; otherwise, they’d have to go with C.J. Beathard.
Lawrence felt good enough to play and led his team to a huge win — their fourth in a row — and looked like his usual self out there.
That’s why HC Doug Pederson went out of his way to tip his hat to his quarterback, stating that it was perhaps the gutsiest performance of his career because they didn’t even know if he was going to be able to suit up (via Cameron Wolfe).
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said if you asked him Monday he would have told you that Trevor Lawrence wasn’t playing in this game. “But that’s not who Trevor is. A lot of gutsy performances out there and his is probably the number one.”

Lawrence rushed for a career-high 59 yards, scrambling to get those tough yards and keep the chains moving, all despite having a brace on his knee.
He also completed 20 of 29 passes for 204 yards and one score, doing most of his damage out of the shotgun as his team tried to prevent him from re-aggravating his knee injury by lining him up behind center.
Also, star RB Travis Etienne Jr. was also quite efficient when his team needed him, especially near the end zone, making the most of his 14 touches for 53 yards and a couple of rushing touchdowns.
The Jacksonville Jaguars keep rolling, and they’re looking like a legitimate threat to come swinging out of the AFC.
