The New York Giants have struggled to be at their best this season.
And as usually happens at this point in the year, finding suitable reinforcements isn’t exactly easy.
Notably, one of their potential options from the practice squad will no longer be a part of the team.
According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, they decided to part ways with veteran wide receiver Cole Beasley.
The #Giants and WR Cole Beasley are mutually parting ways today, sources say. Beasley asked for his release off the practice squad and it was granted.

Apparently, Beasley was the one who requested to be released, so this was kind of mutual.
Beasley signed with Brian Daboll’s team in July, but was unable to make the cut for the 53-man roster.
He was later signed to the practice squad, but spent most of his time on the Injured Reserve (IR) list and hadn’t been called up to play in any of their games thus far.
A bit of a swingman, Beasley has played for the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, logging 536 receptions for 5,744 yards and 34 touchdowns in his career.
He split time with the Bucs and Bills last season, and he doesn’t seem capable of making much of an impact at this point in his career.
As for the Giants, they look closer to blowing the roster up than to competing.
Following an encouraging and promising season in which they even won a playoff game on the road, Daniel Jones and his team have regressed vastly.
They have a divisional matchup with the Washington Commanders on deck, and another loss could pretty much put the last nail in their season’s coffin.
