The New England Patriots don’t have that many veteran leaders in the locker room, and they need every single one of them this season.
That’s why it was such a big sigh of relief to watch Matthew Judon taking the field at training camp.
Despite plenty of rumors and speculation, the star linebacker showed up at the facility (Via Mike Kadlick).

Judon is reportedly looking to get a significant pay raise for the second consecutive season, and some thought he would hold out of training camp if that wasn’t the case.
He denied those rumors, and he’s finally put an end to that speculation.
Even if he wants to get another contract, it seems like he’s willing to show some good faith in negotiations by still showing up to do the job he’s actually getting paid millions of dollars to do.
Unfortunately, that’s not a league-wide trend.
We’re watching players holding out and threatening not to play until they get a better contract.
This situation seems to be getting out of hand, and it will definitely be a major point of emphasis in the next CBA.
The players might not be doing themselves and their future colleagues any favors with this approach to contract negotiations, and it’s about time the teams stop caving into their demands.
The teams and players need to find some common ground to solve these issues, as it’s not like they’re getting pocket change for doing what they’re supposed to do.
