Few head coaches in the NFL are more revered than Dan Campbell of the Detroit Lions, as he is as passionate as they come as a former player turned coach while also being compassionate, as he proved in a press conference this week.
Although Campbell is still relatively new to coaching in the NFL, he has made a name for himself over the last two seasons while seemingly singlehandedly helping turn around the Lions franchise.
Along with having the respect of all his players due to his relentless passion for the game and his love for everyone who plays for him, Campbell is also winning over the media, especially in Detroit.
During a press conference this week, Campbell made a point of showing some support for a reporter who had just lost a loved one, via Ari Meirov.
Earlier this week, #Lions HC Dan Campbell paused his press conference to acknowledge a reporter who recently lost a loved one.
“My heart goes out to you, man. God bless you.”
Much respect to DC. Class act…

A lot of head coaches in professional sports, in general, can be pretty cold when it comes to addressing the media, as they want to distance themselves from creating any relationship with reporters, but then there are others like Campbell.
Although Campbell didn’t address this for long in this press conference, he didn’t have to say anything.
However, he chose to say something that will go a long way in winning over the hearts and minds in Detroit, as he knows this is just a game and that he’s no different than those who cover the team on a daily basis.
