For the first time since 2018, the Baltimore Ravens have someone not named Greg Roman as their offensive coordinator.
After moving on from Roman earlier this year, the Ravens replaced him with Todd Monken, who was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Georgia from 2020 to 2022.
With Monken calling the shots, Baltimore was hoping their offense would be able to reach some new heights that they were unable to get to when Roman was the team’s offensive coordinator.
So far, it’s still a work in progress, as the Ravens currently rank 24th in the league in passing yards and 17th in points scored per drive.
Monken recently spoke about some of the struggles that Baltimore has been experiencing on the offensive side of the ball this year (via The Baltimore Banner’s Jonas Shaffer).
“We have to do a better job coming out in the second half, bottom line… There is no magic formula.”

What Monken is referring to is the fact that the Ravens currently rank 20th in the NFL in average points scored in the second half this year.
Baltimore is averaging less than 10 points in the final two quarters of games this season, and their second-half struggles were a big reason why they were unable to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers back in Week 5.
Despite jumping out to a 10-0 lead, the Ravens were unable to score any points in the second half, and this allowed the Steelers to stage a comeback that ultimately led to them getting a win.
Baltimore will be looking to get more out of their second-half offense when they host a tough Detroit Lions team on Sunday.
