Having a reliable quarterback in the NFL is nearly essential if a team wants to make it to the Super Bowl.
There have been some exceptions, historically, but for the most part, having a solid QB is paramount to success in this league.
This is why teams continue to sign quarterbacks to record-setting deals, as they want to do everything possible to not only keep them happy but to keep them on their team.
It doesn’t always work out, of course, but the prospect of having an elite quarterback for the foreseeable future seems like it’s worth the risk.
With that in mind, the Jacksonville Jaguars recently extended Trevor Lawrence, making him tied for the highest-paid quarterback in the league by average annual value.
He, Jordan Love, and Joe Burrow are all slated to make $55 million per year, an indication of what their respective teams think about them.
Lawrence was one of the most hyped quarterback prospects to enter the league in recent history, but his rookie season didn’t exactly live up to expectations.
He has, however, gotten better every year, and Bucky Brooks recently made a case for Lawrence putting up the best season of his career in 2024.
As Brooks said in a recent segment of ‘Speak’ on FS1, “Not only do I expect Trevor Lawrence to live up to his contract, I expect him to exceed them.”

Brooks believes Lawrence can take that next step as a passer and as a leader, which would be great for the Jaguars.
They’ve only made the playoffs once during his tenure, so they are certainly hoping and expecting he’ll bring them back there this year.
