The Los Angeles Rams headed into the 2023 NFL season knowing that they wouldn’t have superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp available for at least the first four games of the regular season.
Kupp was placed on injured reserve, which meant the passing game might struggle, with veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford also admitting to struggling to build chemistry with the team’s young receivers ahead of the season opener.
Fortunately for the Rams, a new star receiver emerged unexpectedly, with rookie wideout Puka Nacua turning out to be the real deal and a potential Pro Bowler in his first year in Los Angeles.
Nacua has already become a household name in Los Angeles due to his impressive play over the first few weeks of the season, and now he’s in select company, joining three other players over the last decade with multiple 150-yard games, according to StatMuse.

This is an impressive feat, to say the least, as being mentioned in the same breath as Odell Beckham Jr., Justin Jefferson, and Ja’Marr Chase means a bright future might be ahead.
Even though the Rams lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers at home at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, Nacua put on a show once again, as he caught eight passes for 154 yards.
Everyone keeps waiting for this rookie wideout to come back down to earth after this incredibly hot start, but he continues to prove week in and week out that he’s the next star receiver in this league, as he’s really put on an impressive display early in his career with the Rams.
