National Tight End Day was on October 22nd, which happened to fall on an NFL Sunday.
Several of the league’s top tight ends celebrated this holiday with massive performances.
This included Travis Kelce, whose big day helped the Kansas City Chiefs take down the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kelce ended the game with 12 catches, 179 receiving yards, and one touchdown catch.
Andy Reid shared his thoughts on Kelce’s performance in a postgame interview shared via Adam Schefter.
“Kelce keeps getting better and Taylor can stay around all she wants,” Reid said.
Travis Kelce had 12 catches for 179 yards and one TD during the Chiefs’ 31-17 win over the Chargers. Kelce now has five career games with at least 150 receiving yards, joining Shannon Sharpe as the only TEs in NFL history with at least five games of at least 150 receiving yards. pic.twitter.com/VCXAakUmPW

As Reid mentioned, Taylor Swift was in attendance for yet another Chiefs game.
Kelce seems to play best when she is around, as evidenced by his last several games with her watching in person.
This saga has not been lost on Coach Reid, who seemingly wants Swift to be in attendance whenever she is available.
Of course, her tour is slated to resume shortly, limiting her capacity to attend Chiefs games.
Kelce was viewed as one of the league’s best tight ends in history before Swift came into the picture.
His dominant performances have continued, and his latest game put him in elite company with Shannon Sharpe.
As Schefter also pointed out, Kelce joined Sharpe as the only tight end in history to have at least five games with 150+ receiving yards.
Will Kelce’s production drop off when Swift isn’t able to get to his games?
That remains to be seen, but a 179-yard performance will be difficult to replicate, even if she is in attendance.
