The Los Angeles Chargers fell to 2-4 after their recent loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
This slow start to the season has been a surprise to many within the organization given their preseason hype and expectations.
Justin Herbert signed a massive contract extension and their defense took a step forward, two potential indicators of success.
Despite initial optimism, these two aspects of their game have not materialized into tangible results.
After this loss, head coach Brandon Staley spoke about what the team needs to do moving forward, according to reporter Alex Insdorf.
“We need to keep it simple, do the little stuff well,” Staley said.
Brandon Staley: “We’ve got a good football team. We need to reset. We need to keep it simple, do the little stuff well.”

Staley also said that the Chargers “need to reset.”
At 2-4, it might be too late for a Chargers reset to help their chances of a playoff berth.
They have found themselves at odds within their division by falling to the Chiefs.
At 6-1, the Chiefs seem to be a near-lock to win the division, especially since the Chargers are already at a deficit.
The Chargers’ next four opponents are the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers.
Besides the Lions, the Chargers are likely to be favorites in their other three upcoming games.
A Wild Card spot at this point is unlikely, but it seems to be their only opportunity to make the playoffs this season.
To have a chance at a Wild Card berth, the Chargers will have to win at least three of these four games, if not all four.
Otherwise, as Staley put it, the team might be in for a reset.
