The Kansas City Chiefs have been craving a bit of an upgrade to the receiving corps this season.
Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore failed to make the most of their opportunities, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling continues to be just a big-play, boom-or-bust kind of player.
That’s why Travis Kelce was so happy to see Mecole Hardman back on the team.
When asked about his impact, the future Hall of Famer stated that he didn’t know how the New York Jets let Hardman walk, adding that you can simply feel his energy in the locker room and that he’s so glad to have him back on the team (via Paul Andrew Esden Jr).

Hardman signed a lucrative one-year deal with the Jets in the offseason and was expected to have a big role in the passing game behind the likes of Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.
However, with Aaron Rodgers getting hurt four plays into the season, and them taking a run-heavy approach with Breece Hall handling most of the load, Hardman barely saw meaningful playing time.
The Chiefs have struggled to be at their best offensively this season, with tipped interceptions, and a plethora of pass-catchers taking the field.
Hardman is by no means a superstar but he’s familiar with the system and was quite a productive and efficient player in his first stint with Andy Reid’s team.
Patrick Mahomes doesn’t need a lot of help to do some damage, so having a familiar face back with him is only going to make him even more dangerous.
