Heading into the slate of games on the Week 7 schedule in the NFL, the contest between the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions was viewed as one that had the potential to be one of the most competitive matchups on Sunday.
Well, the Ravens quickly ended any hopes of the Lions being competitive in their showdown on Sunday when they stormed out to a 28-0 lead in the second quarter, and eventually won the game by a final score of 38-6.
Baltimore was led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, who completed 77.8 percent of his passes for 357 yards and three touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 36 yards and another score.
On Monday, former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman declared on “Undisputed” that Jackson should be in the thick of the NFL MVP race right now.
“I would say [Jackson] entered the MVP race [on Sunday] for sure.”
“Lamar Jackson has entered the NFL MVP race. The Ravens beat the brakes off the Lions.”

What Sherman also mentioned was that Jackson and Baltimore didn’t just destroy a terrible team on Sunday, they manhandled a Lions team that had won five of their first six games this season heading into Week 7.
So, given who the gigantic win came against, that makes the victory by the Ravens even more impressive.
With the win, Baltimore improved their record to 5-2, and they are currently sitting in first place in the AFC North.
In his seven games this season, Jackson has completed 71 percent of his passes, he’s thrown for eight touchdowns and just three interceptions, he’s averaging 230 passing yards per matchup, and he has a passer rating of 101.9.
And, as one of the top rushing quarterbacks in NFL history, Jackson has also rushed for 363 yards and five touchdowns this year.
