The Philadelphia Eagles scored a major statement win on Sunday when they flew past the Miami Dolphins, 31-17, to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Granted, the Dolphins were shorthanded without star cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard, and they were also without standout rookie running back De’Von Achane, but it was clearly the Eagles’ best win of the season so far.
There have been some concerns about their pass defense, and in an attempt to shore it up, they sent safety Terrell Edmunds and two 2024 late-round draft picks to the Tennessee Titans for safety Kevin Byard.
Byard took to social media to express his excitement about playing for the Eagles.
With that being said… @Eagles it’s up!! #FlyEaglesFly

Byard is originally from Philly, which makes him a very lucky man, as few pro athletes ever get to play for their hometown team.
He is 30 years of age and in his eighth NFL season, and he has been named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro First Team twice in his career.
Last season, he had six passes defended and four interceptions for the Titans.
The Eagles rank in the bottom half of the league in several pass defense categories, and they’re 28th in passing touchdowns allowed and forced interceptions, and the hope is that Byard will help them improve those numbers.
Against Miami, however, they did manage to hold wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who is on a historic tear, to 88 receiving yards.
It was only the third time this season he has had less than 100 receiving yards in a game, and it came after he had posted over 150 yards in four of his previous seven contests.
