The San Francisco 49ers lost to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, an unsuspected result.
Even though the Vikings were seven-point home underdogs heading into this contest, they were able to come away with this unlikely victory.
Brock Purdy threw two interceptions in the loss, including a game-sealing pick in the fourth quarter.
This late-game collapse could be the start of public discourse on Purdy, wondering if he is still the best person to lead the 49ers.
However, Dan Orlovsky tried to put any of those comments to bed, saying that Purdy’s performance was a “product of what’s allowed him to be so successful came back to bite him in the worst spot.”
Purdy made 1 huge mistake. Product of what’s allowed him to be so successful came back to bite him in the worst spot. He will be ok but needs his guys back to play at the elite level he was.

In Orlovsky’s mind, even though the 49ers were expected to handily beat the Vikings in this one, Purdy should get back on track moving forward.
He did throw two interceptions in this game, an uncharacteristic amount for Purdy, who has largely played mistake-free football in his first two seasons.
While it is not excusable, Purdy was missing Deebo Samuel in this game, and several of the 49ers’ skill position players were banged up.
He is used to playing with elite offensive options every week, which was thrown off due to injuries.
With any luck, Purdy will get back on track in the 49ers’ upcoming games.
Their next three opponents are the Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 49ers will likely be favored in all three of these games, a chance for Purdy to prove Orlovsky right.
