The Los Angeles Angels are hoping to find the right man to manage their team.
Ever since Mike Scioscia was let go in 2018, the Angels have been unable to find another manager to keep long-term.
Scioscia was in LA from 2000-2018, and since then the Angels have had three different managers in six years.
The most recent manager was Phil Nevin, who was with the team for the second half of 2022 and all of 2023.
In his short time as manager, the Angels were 30 games under .500.
For a team that has so many expectations, they consistently fall short.
Their first order of business this offseason is finding a manager that can bring some stability.
According to Jon Morosi, the Angles believe that Buck Showalter could provide just that.
Showalter is a candidate for their managerial opening.
It also helps that he has a long-standing relationship with Angels GM Perry Minasian.

Showalter recently agreed to mutually part ways with the New York Mets.
He led the Mets to a 101-win season in 2022.
But, this season they struggled to do anything right.
The Mets had a record of 75-87 and that drop-off is what cost Showalter his job.
Still, he is an experienced manager who knows the ins and outs of the game.
While finding the right manager is important, the Angels have plenty of roster flaws they need to fix.
It all starts with what Shohei Ohtani plans to do in free agency.
If he signs back with the Angels, then they might be able to compete.
If not, this team seems destined for a long rebuild.
