The New England Patriots have been dealing with the type of miserable season they haven’t experienced in decades, and going into their Week 7 contest versus the Buffalo Bills, their prospects seemed bleak.
But they managed to defeat Josh Allen and company, 29-25, and improve to 2-5 on the season, and while it may not be a turning point, it could end up being the type of win that saves head coach Bill Belichick’s job.
There have been rumors that perhaps he is on the hot seat or that he may decide to move on at the conclusion of this season.
On Tuesday, the Patriots made a minor roster move when they waived rookie Malik Cunningham, per Tom Pelissero.

Cunningham played in just one game this season at the quarterback position, and he didn’t attempt a single pass.
He went undrafted out of the University of Louisville, where in five seasons he threw for 9,664 yards and 70 touchdown passes while completing 62.6 percent of his passes.
Cunningham led Louisville to the 2019 Music City Bowl, which it won, 38-28, and he notched 279 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and 81 rushing yards, earning him game MVP honors.
There have been plenty of questions surrounding New England starting QB Mac Jones following some very poor performances from him, but he did well versus the Bills by completing 25 of 30 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns.
New England had more rushing and passing yards than the Bills in that contest, and although Bills QB Josh Allen completed 27 of 41 passes, Jones had the last word with a touchdown pass to Mike Gesicki in the closing seconds.
