Patrick Mahomes, the otherworldly quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, is already one of the all-time greats of the NFL, but he’s only 28, so he could have up to a decade to add to his resume.
He has already won two Super Bowl championships, two regular-season MVPs, and two Super Bowl MVPs, and right now, many feel he is the frontrunner for this season’s MVP award.
The question is whether Mahomes has a real shot a supplanting Tom Brady to become the consensus greatest player in league history.
Teammate Travis Kelce says that while he has all the respect in the world for Brady, he feels Mahomes has what it takes to become the greatest ever, per “I Am Athlete.”

This season, the Chiefs are 6-1, which is tied for the best record in the league, and they’re coming off a 31-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in which Mahomes looked like his vintage self.
In that game, he completed 32 of 42 passes for 424 yards while throwing four touchdown passes, and it was certainly his best performance of the year so far.
Going into Week 7, Mahomes had been playing subpar football by his standards, but he appears to be getting back into gear.
The one big concern with the Chiefs moving forward is their lack of a consistently productive wide receiver, which will ultimately put lots of pressure on Kelce to make big plays quite often.
As great as Kelce is, it could simply be too much for him come playoff time.
