The San Francisco 49ers have received some news that could impact their season moving forward.
It was recently revealed that Brock Purdy suffered a concussion in their Week 7 game, putting him into the league’s protocol.
Purdy has been instrumental for the 49ers over the last year, a big reason for their continued success.
Having him out for their upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals might seem concerning, but LeSean McCoy recently tried to put 49ers fans at ease.
In a conversation with his colleagues on “Speak,” McCoy said, “I’m a believer in Kyle Shanahan,” adding, “Do what you been doing.”

Even though Purdy has been at the helm for the 49ers, McCoy believes the team can still find success without him.
Shanahan is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in the league.
As McCoy mentions, he tends to find ways to win, even when his best players are unable to step foot on the field.
Purdy hasn’t yet been ruled out for their upcoming game, but it appears that it could end up being a gametime decision.,
If he is unable to go, the 49ers will be forced to turn to Brandon Allen or Sam Darnold, their two backups.
Darnold was said to be in a quarterback competition with Purdy during the offseason, but it was made clear early on that Purdy was going to be their pick.
