Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker has made a decision on his future.
After his Astros were eliminated by the Texas Rangers in the American League Championship Series, he informed the team and the press that he is, indeed, calling it a career.
Baker, who has been managing since 1993, won his first World Series title in 2022 with the Astros.
He lost the 2021 Fall Classic to the Atlanta Braves and came close to making it to the World Series this year.
In other words, the Astros were always competitive with him in the dugout.
Now, he will get to enjoy some quality time with his family.
Fans, as you would expect, reacted to Baker’s decision to retire.
Most of them congratulated him on an excellent career and wished him well in the future.

A true clubhouse leader with a powerful personality, Baker won 2,183 games and lost 1,862 during his career, for a cool .540 winning percentage.
He also had a very solid 57-51 record in the playoffs, with a .528 winning percentage.
Some people make a lot of the winner-take-all games he lost over the years, but that’s not always something a manager can control and there are a myriad of factors that should be included in the analysis.
He proved last year that he can manage a team to a World Series title.
Best wishes to Johnnie B. “Dusty”Baker and congratulations on an outstanding baseball career both as a manager and as a player! @Dodgers @astros @Braves @SFGiants @Athletics pic.twitter.com/e068DEfGwj
