Thanks to a very impressive 32-point win over the Detroit Lions last week, the Baltimore Ravens are now being viewed by some as one of the top teams in the AFC so far this season.
Despite their success, the Ravens still might need to add another piece or two to their roster before this year’s trade deadline so that they can truly contend with the best of the best in the conference.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky recently discussed on “Get Up” how he believes Baltimore would be good enough to at least compete in this season’s AFC Championship if they somehow managed to acquire running back Saquon Barkley from the New York Giants before the trade deadline next week.
“[The Ravens] might as well book a plane from Baltimore to Kansas City for the AFC title game. That’s how good [the Ravens] would be [with Saquon Barkley].”

Currently, the Ravens already have a player in their offense who is a threat to bust a long run at any moment.
But the problem is, that player is Baltimore’s quarterback, Lamar Jackson.
While Jackson is one of the most dynamic signal-callers in the entire NFL due to his skills as a rusher, his playing style can sometimes lead to him missing time due to injuries.
If Baltimore wants to give Jackson a better shot at remaining healthy for the entire 2023 season, making a trade for a talented running back like Saquon Barkley might be something worth considering.
Currently, the Ravens are in first place in the AFC North with a 5-2 record, and both of their losses could have easily resulted in wins since both were only by seven points or less.
Next on Baltimore’s schedule is a road matchup against a 1-6 Arizona Cardinals team.
