The New York Jets could look to move several players ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
There have been plenty of rumors surrounding Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook, who has been visually frustrated with his lack of touches thus far.
Now, Defensive End Carl Lawson, who’s fresh off an Achilles injury, could also be on his way out.
Lawson came back from that major injury and finished the 2022 campaign with seven sacks, but he hasn’t played in two of the Jets’ six games this season.
That’s why he voiced his frustration and talked about how he would love to be a New York Jet for life, but he also wanted to play (Via Zack Rosenblatt).
Carl Lawson on if he’d be open to a trade if that became a possibility: “I’ve always wanted to help the Jets win … but I’m a football player, not a cheerleader.”
Said he’s still trying to be the best version of himself for the #Jets and be a great teammate and be as respectful…

It’s easy to understand his frustration, as he played just 73 defensive snaps this season, which is why it’s not a surprise to see his name involved in trade rumors.
The Jets have fared much better than most people expected after Aaron Rodgers’ injury, so they could look to bolster their chances of making the playoffs by making a couple of moves.
Also, they have one of the best defenses in the league, so barring an injury, it would be tough to see Head Coach Robert Saleh making any big lineup moves.
Lawon is a very solid contributor and a guy who could fetch a somewhat decent return in the trade market.
He might not be what the Jets need at the moment, and those words may have opened the door for him to walk away from MetLife Stadium.
