The Carolina Panthers haven’t been any good this season, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them offload some of their veterans.
That’s why, even though they claim it’s due to an elbow injury, some fans are keeping an eye on Carolina after they ruled out star pass rusher Brian Burns from today’s practice (via Ian Rapoport).
#Panthers star edge Brian Burns is not at practice today because of an elbow injury that limited him yesterday. That’s worth watching (though it’s not related to any trade anything).

Burns was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice and didn’t practice at all on Friday.
He’s currently leading the team with four sacks, and he has the potential to be even better in a more favorable environment.
The Panthers also placed Yetur Gross-Matos on Injured Reserve (IR) earlier in the week, and WR Laviska Shenault Jr. and S Vonn Bell were ruled out of practice as well with ankle and quad injuries, respectively.
The team has reportedly shut downs all trade talks regarding Burns, but that could all change soon, especially depending on how they fare against the Houston Texans or how much another team is willing to pay for the pass rusher.
The two-time Pro Bowler reportedly drew interest from the Philadelphia Eagles, not that they need any more help at the position.
The Panthers are the only winless team in the league, and while the offense has fared much better than the defense, one could argue that they could benefit from cleaning house and starting back from scratch.
Then again, with them looking to build a team around Bryce Young, it seems like it might take a whole lot to pry one of their best players away.
