The New England Patriots are running out of time to salvage their season.
They weren’t able to build from the momentum after getting that huge win over the Buffalo Bills, dropping a 31-17 contest to the Miami Dolphins.
Unsurprisingly, that means that Mac Jones was once again under heavy scrutiny.
With that in mind, HC Bill Belichick made it loud and clear that it was a team effort, even adding that all the coaches need to do a better job as well, not just Jones (via Patriot RedZone).
Bill Belichick cuts off a question asking if Mac Jones ‘is the quarterback moving forward.’
“We all need to play better. We all need to coach and play better.”
Was this game on Mac Jones?

Jones completed 19 of 29 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, logging a passer rating of 88.4.
He wasn’t particularly bad, but he wasn’t spectacular by any means.
Even so, it would be tough to blame him for the loss, especially considering they were able to move the chains, and the offense was fairly better than the defense in this game.
The Patriots are sitting on a 2-6 record and well at the bottom of the AFC East Division standings.
Catching up with the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, and even the Dolphins seems like a long shot, and making the playoffs is pretty much out of the picture.
And with the Patriots already securing a contract extension with Bill Belichick, it seems like Jones’ future with the team could be in serious jeopardy.
This season already seems like a lost cause.
And at this point, every time Jones sets foot on the gridiron could be him having an audition to play for another team next season.
