The Kansas City Chiefs are sitting on a 6-2 record and are atop the AFC, but they shouldn’t feel that well about themselves right now.
They failed to score a single touchdown for the first time in almost two years, and the Denver Broncos defense exposed their offense for the second time in three weeks.
That’s why Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe claimed to be very concerned about the Chiefs right now.
In the latest edition of “First Take,” he stated that Patrick Mahomes is starting to turn the ball over at a high and regular rate, mostly because he’s constantly pressing and trying to do too much.
.@ShannonSharpe is CONCERNED about the Chiefs:
“This is absolutely something, because Patrick Mahomes is starting to turn the ball over with greater regularity. … This is a large, large concern because offensively the Chiefs are not who we’ve grown accustomed to seeing.” pic.twitter.com/qihE0pp2tQ

That has a lot to do with their offensive struggles as a whole.
He pointed out the fact that the Chiefs offense isn’t what it used to be despite having pretty much the same personnel, which is a testament to Eric Bieniemy’s great job in charge of the team.
Sharpe called out Andy Reid and the media for not giving Bieniemy enough credit because Reid was the one who was calling the plays, which is the same thing that’s happening now.
The legendary tight end believes that going from Bieniemy to Matt Nagy was obviously a downgrade for this team, and they don’t have that much time to turn things around.
Of course, having Mahomes and that defense will always give them a chance to win.
But the Chiefs have a lot of work to do if they want to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
