Many NFL teams have played surprisingly well in the first half of the season.
But there is still a lot of football left to decide who is a contender and who is a pretender.
One team that many people seem to have fallen in love with is the Detroit Lions.
They were a fun story last season, but this year they have turned into a legitimately good team.
Colin Cowherd is one person who loves everything about the Lions.
He said: “There’s nothing about the Lions I don’t like except their history,” (via the Herd w/Colin Cowherd).

Cowherd even predicted that the Lions will win their division for the foreseeable future.
He believes Jared Goff is a top-10-12 quarterback in the league, and everything is starting to click for the franchise.
The Lions hit a few home runs in this past draft and have one of the best rosters in the NFC.
Adding running back Jahmyr Gibbs has made their offense much more explosive.
The only issue with this team is that they have no postseason success.
This franchise has not won a playoff game since 1992.
Their history suggests they will find a way to lose games instead of win them.
But for now, the Lions are a fun team that is playing at the top of their game.
Sitting at 6-2, they have a two-game lead in the NFC North and only sit one game behind the Eagles for first place in the conference.
This might finally be the year the Lions break through and have postseason success.
