After a rough start to the 2023 NFL season, in which the Minnesota Vikings lost four out of their first five games, the team has been able to turn things around, with a lot of credit going to veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins for staying the course and leading his team to three straight wins.
Unfortunately for Cousins, the win over the division-rival Green Bay Packers came out at a cost for the veteran quarterback, as he suffered a torn Achilles tendon and will now miss the rest of the season.
This was a devastating blow for a player who had dealt with trade rumors all season long and lost his best wide receiver in Justin Jefferson to an injury a few weeks ago.
Cousins showed a lot of resiliency and a unique ability to shut out the outside noise while leading his team to win and ultimately back into the playoff picture in the NFC.
On Tuesday, New York Jets superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who also suffered an Achilles injury to start the season, said he spoke to Cousins and gave him as much information as he could on what has worked for him during the recovery process, via “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“I really like Kirk Cousins & I got a chance to talk to him yesterday..
I passed along all the information that I could & let him know what’s been working for me..
There’s nobody better than Neal ElAttrache & we got an Achilles Factory brewing out west”@AaronRodgers12 pic.twitter.com/jLBUHwIYWQ

Rodgers talked about giving Cousins advice and how his choice in the recovery process from surgery on his torn Achilles isn’t for everyone, especially if he’s not in a rush to get back on the field.
Even though it appeared Rodgers’ first season with the Jets was over in Week 1, he’s determined to make it back on the field this season, which will be an unprecedented bounce-back from an injury that ends careers a lot of the time.
