The San Francisco 49ers are clearly all-in on winning a Super Bowl title this season as they made another splash deal during the 2023 NFL season.
The 49ers sent out a third-round pick to the Washington Commanders in exchange for Chase Young, shoring up what was already one of the league’s best defensive lines.
Young was one of the hottest names rumored to be traded at the NFL trade deadline and San Francisco made sure they landed the former number-two overall pick.
Young has dealt with various injuries already, so his medicals may have scared off other teams but the 49ers may be hoping that he’s able to at least stay healthy enough the rest of the way this season as they try to get back to the Super Bowl.
No one can blame San Francisco for being aggressive at this point of the season, and Young will definitely help their defense try to regain its footing.
However, James Jones argued that the real problem with the team is Brock Purdy, via “Speak.”

Purdy has fallen back down to Earth in all three of San Francisco’s losses and Jones says that Young’s addition won’t help them on the offensive end.
Although Jones admits that being able to rush just four players should bolster the defense, the fact remains that the offense needs more out of Purdy if the team wants to win it all.
To be fair to Purdy, the team has been without Deebo Samuel but the young quarterback now has to prove he is the right person for the job.
