The odds are stacked against the Arizona Diamondbacks at this point.
They were in a really good spot after their Game 2 victory in Texas, having stolen home-field advantage.
But they weren’t able to get the job done at home, losing Games 3 and 4 at Chase Field in front of their fans.
Now, the Diamondbacks are down 3-1 in the World Series and the Texas Rangers are one win away from becoming champions for the first time.
If you are wondering how many teams have been able to overcome a 3-1 deficit in postseason history, there aren’t many.
“Only 14 teams have overcome a 3-1 deficit in the #Postseason,” MLB on FOX tweeted.

According to the graphic, 92 squads have fallen behind 3-1, and only 14 have gone on to come back and win the series.
That’s good for a tiny .152 winning percentage.
To be crowned World Series champs for the first time since 2001, Arizona needs to win on Wednesday at home behind ace Zac Gallen and then steal two in Texas.
It’s not impossible: the Chicago Cubs did something similar in 2016.
However, it’s incredibly difficult.
For starters, the Diamondbacks pitching staff needs to hold the Rangers’ deep and talented lineup in check, and they haven’t been doing that.
Corey Seager and company are wreaking havoc, hitting home runs and producing runs by the bunch.
Working in the D-Backs’ favor is the fact Texas won’t have Adolis Garcia and Max Scherzer for the rest of the World Series.
Can they pull off the improbable comeback, though?
It looks unlikely, but they need to start by winning on Wednesday.
