The Arizona Diamondbacks tried their best, but couldn’t even sniff the World Series trophy.
After taking one game in Texas, they lost three straight at home, at Chase Field, and saw the Texas Rangers celebrate their first World Series championship.
The D-Backs are a good baseball team, with an even brighter future, but their roster was flawed and they couldn’t really compete with the Rangers.
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo took some time to say some words to fans.
D-Backs fans were loyal throughout the whole year, supporting the team from the go and until the end.
“‘I’m just sorry. I’m sorry, I didn’t do my job to get us there. They want a world championship as badly as we do.’ Torey Lovullo’s tearful message to Diamondbacks fans,” PHNX Diamondbacks tweeted, quoting the skipper.

Lovullo can rest easy knowing that he took an “underdog” all the way to the World Series.
He had a fantastic season and led a brilliant group of individuals.
Of course, he made some questionable decisions from the dugout, but even the best managers do every once in a while.
Nobody is perfect.
However, D-Backs fans can rest easy knowing that they have a manager who actually cares about the team and each player and coach.
Lovullo has been in charge for a few years now, and his World Series appearance makes him more likely to stick around for the long haul.
One of these days, the D-Backs might shock the world and win it all with Lovullo at the helm.
