The Minnesota Vikings have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL over the past month or so, with veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins figuring out ways to lead this team to three straight wins after losing four of the team’s first five games of the 2023 campaign.
Unfortunately, last week’s win over the division-rival Green Bay Packers proved to be costly for the team, with Cousins going down with a torn Achilles tendon.
Much like superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets in Week 1, Cousins went down with the injury, had surgery, and is now facing an uphill battle to resume his NFL career.
With Cousins done for the year, as he tries to bounce back from the injury that has ended a lot of football players’ careers, the Vikings chose to make a move to address the void at the quarterback position by bringing in Josh Dobbs.
Dobbs, who has been Kyler Murray’s replacement for the Arizona Cardinals for most of the season, talked about getting traded to Minnesota before the NFL trade deadline via Arye Pulli of The Sports Place and Dov Kleiman.
#Vikings Josh Dobbs is exactly who you want in your QB room – he’s been traded for the second time this season but he’s handling things like a pro. No hard feelings towards the #Cardinals

Before ultimately bringing in Dobbs, the Vikings seemed to be on the verge of acquiring Jameis Winston from the New Orleans Saints, but that deal fell apart for whatever reason.
However, the Vikings might be better off with Dobbs as he’ll be out to prove himself for the rest of the season in Minnesota while trying to keep this team’s playoff hopes alive.
