The Houston Texans never had a doubt about who their guy was.
Despite some reports about his allegedly low score on some tests, and even considering how poorly Ohio State QBs have fared in the NFL, they were always focused on getting C.J. Stroud.
It didn’t take long before he proved they made the right decision, as he’s been the most spectacular rookie in the league by a significant margin this season.
With that in mind, former Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman tipped his hat to him (via The Volume).
“This looks like a team that’s going to be very dangerous come playoff time if they could get in”

Sherman revealed that there were some reports about people within the Carolina Panthers organization wanting the team to get C.J. Stroud, but the team owner ‘fell in love’ with Bryce Young, so they had no choice but to take him with the No. 1 pick.
Now, Young has struggled mightily in the league, with some reports even stating that the Panthers had to simplify the playbook for him to get better.
Stroud, on the other hand, is on the heels of breaking the rookie record by throwing for 470 yards in a single game, all while also getting five touchdowns.
The Texans look way ahead of schedule, and they weren’t supposed to be in the mix for a playoff spot at this point in the season, but with Stroud playing the way he’s been playing, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to see them sneaking their way into the postseason, and they’re not the kind of team you’ll want to meet there.
