Some people have had some doubts about the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs this season, but on Sunday, they helped alleviate those concerns with a big win over the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins came in as the NFL’s top offensive team, yet they didn’t score in the first half as Kansas City took a 21-0 lead, and even though Kansas City went scoreless themselves in the second half, they still held on for a 21-14 win.
While evaluating the game on FS1’s “Undisputed,” Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin called Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes “basically God playing QB.”

This wasn’t a vintage performance from Mahomes, but he did complete 20 of 30 passes and throw two touchdown passes, which was just enough for a win.
Late in the third quarter, he fumbled the ball, giving Miami possession and allowing them to get a touchdown from running back Raheem Mostert that made it a one-possession game.
Overall, Mahomes’ numbers on the season are a bit subpar, at least by his standards, but he still has 2,442 passing yards and 17 touchdown passes on a 68.6 percent completion rate, although he has also thrown eight interceptions, which is tied for the second-most in the NFL.
With the win, the Chiefs improved to a 7-2 record, which ties them with the Baltimore Ravens for the best mark in the AFC.
They will get to rest this week before they have a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in two weeks.
