The Los Angeles Chargers were motivated coming into their Monday Night Football matchup with the New York Jets.
They had an opportunity to get back to .500 on the season, putting themselves squarely into the playoff picture.
Thankfully for the Chargers, they took care of business, dismantling the Jets, 27-6.
One of the most effective parts of the Chargers’ roster in this game was their pass rush.
Brandon Staley highlighted this unit in a postgame interview, saying, “When we’re healthy, that’s how we’ll rush.”
Brandon Staley on pass rush: “When we’re healthy, that’s how we’ll rush…When they’ve (Bosa and Mack) been healthy together, that’s how they’ve played.”
“The reason why we’re able to rush the way we are is the way we’re playing against the run.”

The Chargers’ two-headed monster of Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack is among the league’s best duos when healthy.
Both players have struggled to stay on the field lately, but when they do, as Staley mentioned, their defensive front is one of the best in the league.
The Chargers defense forced three turnovers in this game, and Zach Wilson was sacked eight times.
Bosa accounted for 2.5, while Mack had 2 of his own.
By getting to Wilson early and often, he had little chance to do much with the ball, a big part of the Chargers blowout win.
The Chargers can head into the back half of the season with confidence on the heels of this massive victory.
However, just because they are confident does not mean their path forward is easy.
The Detroit Lions are their next opponent, who have one of the most dangerous offenses in the league.
Bosa and Mack will be tested against Jared Goff and the Lions’ surprisingly strong offensive line.
If they can come through unscathed, it will be a good litmus test for the rest of the season.
