The Los Angeles Chargers ended the New York Jets’ hot streak, making a statement against one of the league’s most prominent defensive units.
Kellen Moore’s offense thrived, with Justin Herbert leading his team to a big 27-6 road win to keep their postseason hopes alive.
More than that, it was also a historical day for star WR Keenan Allen, who logged his 10,000th career receiving yard during the win.
To make it even sweeter, he pulled it off by making one of the most impressive grabs of his career, a highlight reel-worthy catch that could be a strong candidate for the reception of the season.
Needless to say, Allen was emotional after achieving such a historical milestone, talking about how hard he’s worked to reach that.
“That’s amazing. Hard work paying off, consistency, resiliency. I’ve been through a lot, injuries and stuff like that, so it’s nice,” Allen said.

Notably, he joined legendary TE Antonio Gates (11,841) as the only two players in franchise history to get at least 10,000 receiving yards per their careers.
On top of that, the California product became just the 54th player in NFL history to reach that milestone, and he could crack the top 45 by the end of the season if he stays healthy.
He’s currently averaging 90 yards per game, and he ranks sixth among active players behind the likes of Julio Jones (13,640), DeAndre Hopkins (11,862), Mike Evans (11,019), Travis Kelce (10,941) and Davante Adams (10,210).
Allen finished the night with eight receptions on nine targets for 77 yards.
The Chargers took their record to 4-4 and trail the Kansas City Chiefs for the top spot in the AFC West, and they now have a date with the Detroit Lions on deck.
