After an NFL offseason filled with hype following the acquisition of superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets came into the 2023 campaign with high hopes of competing for a Super Bowl title.
Rodgers seemed like the missing piece to the puzzle for the Jets, as the team seemingly had enough of seeing former first-round draft pick Zach Wilson struggle under center.
Unfortunately for New York, Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles during his first series with the team this season, forcing the team to revert back to Wilson yet again.
Even though the team has still struggled, Wilson has done enough during his time as the starter again to lead the team to a .500 record of 4-4, which is better than expected.
However, it hasn’t stopped the fans and the media from asking about a change at the quarterback position, especially after the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
Robert Saleh was adamant about saying there won’t be a change at this point in time, via Jets Videos on Twitter.
Robert Saleh says the Jets are not considering a change at QB:
“It would be one thing if it was just [Zach Wilson]. If it was just him, it would be worth discussing, but this is a collective issue.” pic.twitter.com/nmoFavgBkl

With Rodgers getting Jets fans excited about his potential return in a few weeks, Saleh might be holding out hope that Wilson can keep the team afloat and in the playoff picture until their superstar quarterback is ready to get back on the field.
Usually, a torn Achilles tendon is enough to end a player’s season and potentially end their career, especially at an advanced age like Rodgers, but he seems determined to make an unprecedented comeback, which could change the way we view the injury altogether.
