The Arizona Cardinals plan to have two prime offensive reinforcements on the field on Sunday.
With Kyler Murray set to make his season debut after recovering from a major knee injury, NFL insider Ari Meirov reports that they’ve also designated RB James Conner to return from the injured reserve (IR) list.

Conner, who was also out with a knee injury, now has a chance to be activated in time to be on the field for Sunday’s clash vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
Needless to say, it might take a while before he gets his usual workload back, and they’ll likely watch him in practice to determine whether he’s back to full strength or not.
Conner had been the best player in the Cardinals offense before falling with that knee injury in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals after breaking out for a 35-yard run.
Despite logging just 68 carries, the former Pittsburgh Steelers RB has 364 yards and a 5.4 yards per carry average.
The Cardinals could definitely use the offensive boost, especially on the ground, as they’re coming off running for just 41 yards, with 28 of those coming from rookie QB Clayton Tune.
Jonathan Gannon’s team has been one of the worst in the league — as expected — and one can only wonder whether they’ll risk their star players for long.
With the second half of the season ahead of them, they might opt to just give up and plan ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft if things don’t go their way in the next couple of weeks.
