The Cincinnati Bengals spent some big bucks to get Joe Burrow locked in for the future, and rightfully so.
Being one of the three best quarterbacks in the game, it only made sense for the team to get a deal done sooner rather than later.
Needless to say, the early returns weren’t good, and the people even urged the Bengals to bench Burrow while he recovered from that Achilles injury, but to no avail.
Burrow continued to play through injury, and while that didn’t do much to help his team’s cause, it spoke volumes of his leadership and toughness.
Fast forward to today, and Burrow is once again playing like one of the best — if not the best — quarterback in the game.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Craig Carton believes that Burrow’s contract — at least for this season — shouldn’t be judged by the way he’s performed until the season is over.
“Joe Burrow’s money good. He’s a top 3 quarterback. Now you have a guy that’s dominating the NFL.”

In the latest edition of The Carton Show, he explained that quarterbacks of his caliber are no longer judged by their production but by how far they’re able to lead their team in the playoffs.
It’s been a tale of two stories for Burrow this season.
He threw for just a couple of touchdowns with two interceptions through the first four weeks of the season, completing 57.6% of his passes for 182 passing yards and just 12.3 points per game.
Ever since he healed from that calf injury, he’s completed a whopping 75.8% of his passes for 283.3 passing yards and 26.5 points per game with ten touchdowns against two picks.
Simply elite.
