C.J. Stroud is quickly becoming the most-discussed rookie of the 2023 NFL Season.
Stroud has made an immediate impact on the Houston Texans, a team that had struggled for an identity at the position after Deshaun Watson left.
His offensive coordinator, Bobby Slowik, recently appeared on “The NFL Report” to discuss what has made Stroud special this year.
“He’s a fun guy to coach,” Slowik said, adding, “He’s always engaged.”

This sentiment has been shared a lot about Stroud during the season thus far.
He is commonly talked about as a great teammate and someone that coaches love to have in their building.
Of course, it helps his cause when he plays this well to keep the Texans well within the playoff picture.
Slowik also talked about how Stroud’s mentality does not just apply to him.
Having a leader in the locker room who is engaged and focused on the task at hand allows his teammates to take a careful watch of what he says and does, trying to emulate his mannerisms.
While his off-field work ethic and demeanor are mainly highlighted here by Slowik, Stroud’s on-field performances have been nothing short of spectacular.
He is firmly in the running for Offensive Rookie of the Year, something that was not the case heading into the season.
Stroud has already broken the single-game rookie record for passing yards but doesn’t seem content to stop there.
Fans can look forward to the rest of the year with excitement hoping to see Stroud continue to stamp his place in record books.
