Several months ago, many expected former University of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young to be the top rookie, especially at the QB position, this season in the NFL.
After all, he was the No. 1 pick in April’s draft and many were raving about his pocket presence and instinctual feel for the game.
But with the season just about at its midway point, the top rookie appears to be QB C.J. Stroud, who was the next player picked after Young.
The Ohio State University product is on a tear, and Micah Parsons and Stephon Gilmore of the Dallas Cowboys raved about what he’s been doing while saying he looks more like a veteran than a rookie, per Bleacher Report.
Micah and Stephon Gilmore LOVE what CJ Stroud is doing. Absolutely balling out in Houston.

Stroud has put up 2,270 passing yards and 14 touchdown passes while throwing only one interception through eight games, and he ranks seventh in the entire league in both passing yards and passing touchdowns.
Even better, he has led the Houston Texans, a team that was supposed to be awful, to a respectable 4-4 record, and their last win was remarkable.
Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past Sunday, they fell behind 37-33 with 46 seconds left after a touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield to Cade Otton, and it looked like Houston was done.
But Stroud got the ball back and got into Tampa Bay territory in just three plays, then completed two passes to rookie wide receiver Tank Dell, the second of which resulted in the game-winning touchdown.
Suddenly, the Texans have the type of future not many outside of Southeast Texas could’ve imagined just a few months ago.
