With the Houston Texans being one of the worst teams in the NFL over the last few years, many anticipated more of the same from the struggling franchise this season, with the team bringing in a new head coach and a rookie quarterback who was set to start under center right away.
Even though bringing in Demeco Ryans to be the new head coach and drafting C.J. Stroud to be the team’s new franchise quarterback were steps in the right direction, no one expected this team to have any success this season, with the rebuilding just beginning.
However, the Texans have been arguably the most surprising team in the league this season, with Ryans doing an incredible job as the team’s new head coach and Stroud making a strong case for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Not only is Stroud the clear favorite for being the best rookie on the offensive side of the football, but he’s starting to get some MVP buzz after leading the Texans to a come-from-behind win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10.
Emmanual Acho of FOX Sports thinks Ryans and Stroud should be in the conversation for some regular-season awards.
Demeco Ryans should be front runner for coach of the year.
CJ Stroud should be firmly in the MVP conversation.

Acho is right on the money with his assessment of what is happening in Houston, with Ryans calling the shots on the side and Stroud getting it done under center.
Even though an MVP candidacy might be a stretch, it’s not out of the realm of possibility if Stroud continues to play at a high level for the Texans.
