Over the past couple of years, there has been a lot of talk regarding Russell Wilson and whether he could lead the Denver Broncos.
Some stated that the players weren’t high on him and didn’t respect him as a leader, while others stated that they didn’t care for the fact that he had his own office in their facilities.
Reports of Wilson working out on the plane aisle and the players being annoyed by it also surfaced, and even rumors of Sean Payton not getting along with him surfaced left and right during the team’s struggles.
Now, Wilson has been instrumental in their season turnaround.
Recently, he talked about how he urged his players to stay disciplined and do their job in the game-winning drive against the Buffalo Bills, and it’s more than clear that they listened to him and were in sync to get the job done (via Zac Stevens).
Russell Wilson’s message to the offense on the game-winning drive:
“I just told the guys: We have to be really sharp. We have to be really disciplined. Get as much as you can get, get out of bounds, get north, field goal wins it. We just did a really good job.”

Perhaps Russell Wilson doesn’t strike like the average quarterback or the usual NFL leader, but he’s a former Super Bowl champion and perennial MVP candidate and has earned his stripes in the league.
The Broncos need to be all on the same page if they want to cap off this good moment with a postseason berth.
Wilson is getting paid a lot of money to lead the team and will only be judged by the season’s outcome, so the rest of the team better get in line and give him a helping hand.
