The Houston Texans have struggled at the quarterback position over the past few years.
Once Deshaun Watson left, they hadn’t found a superstar to take his place.
That might all be changing with the emergence of C.J. Stroud.
Stroud has quickly made a name for himself as the leader of this offense and is the clear front-runner for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
More importantly, he has revitalized the fanbase, which has been down since Watson’s departure.
JJ Watt discussed this in an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, saying, “I think we’re about to see the energy in Houston reach those old-school levels.”
“The Texans have a franchise QB who has legitimately put himself into the MVP conversation..

Watt is one of the most beloved Texans in franchise history.
If he is this positive about Stroud, it indicates how valuable he is and will be to this organization moving forward.
As Watt mentioned, Stroud has not only made his way into the Offensive Rookie of the Year conversation but is a serious candidate for league MVP.
Watson was an MVP-caliber player when he played for the Texans, constantly keeping himself in the conversation for the award.
If Stroud keeps up this level of play, voters will be forced to consider the rookie for this prestigious honor.
There has only been one rookie to win league MVP.
Jim Brown took home this award in 1957, showing how difficult it is to achieve as a rookie.
There is a lot of football to be played, but if Stroud keeps this pace going, he might write his name into the record books.
