The Cincinnati Bengals suffered two massive losses against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football.
Not only did they lose this crucial game, but Joe Burrow left early due to a wrist injury.
Burrow has been the lifeblood of this team since he was drafted, a catalyst for the organization’s success.
After he got hurt, the momentum of the game went in favor of the Ravens, who ran with it en route to their blowout victory.
Cornerback Mike Hilton talked about the impact this had on the game in a postgame interview shared via Mike Petraglia.
“He’s a top-two quarterback in the league. It makes it tough, but that’s no excuse,” Hilton said.

Hilton believes that, while Burrow is an impactful player on this team, they should have found a way to win in his absence.
When Burrow was ruled out, it was up to backup Jake Browning to try and maintain the reins on this game.
He was not able to pull off an improbable comeback, largely due to the aforementioned momentum shift.
With any luck, Burrow’s injury will not hinder him for too long, and he’ll quickly return to the field and help the Bengals for the rest of the season.
Otherwise, Browning will need to rally the troops, embodying Hilton’s latest comments.
Browning has never started an NFL game, spending time during his career on the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad before joining the Bengals.
If Burrow misses time, the Bengals will see what they have in Browning until he returns.
