The Cincinnati Bengals were hoping the injury to quarterback Joe Burrow was not as serious as it looked.
Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The injury is as bad as it could be as Bengals head coach Zac Taylor informed everyone of the news.
According to Ian Rapoport, Taylor said Burrow is ruled out for the season with his wrist injury.
Burrow had an MRI Friday morning and it revealed the worst.

It cannot get any worse for Bengals fans and the city of Cincinnati.
They had Super Bowl expectations heading into the season and now would be lucky to make the playoffs.
Without Burrow, any chance of achieving the ultimate goal is gone.
The NFL seems to have a serious problem with quarterback injuries.
Burrow is the next one on a long list of quarterbacks who are already out for the year.
The level of play on the field takes a major hit when the top quarterbacks in the league are unavailable.
That is why the NFL is a battle of attrition.
Whichever team can stay the healthiest for the longest usually has the most success.
As for the Bengals, they have a 5-5 record and will need a miracle to play in the postseason.
This is a tough blow for Burrow who battled to stay healthy all season.
He injured his calf in training camp and it took him a while to get back to full strength.
Now, he is done for the year with a wrist injury.
Hopefully, the star quarterback will be able to return to full strength by the beginning of next season.
