Even though not many people outside of Western Pennsylvania had high hopes for them this season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are currently 6-3 and have a real shot at making the playoffs.
They have gotten to this point the way they have traditionally succeeded: by mucking up the game and winning with defense.
They have held their opponents to 20 or fewer points six times this season, including each of their last five contests, and they have forced more turnovers than any other team in the NFL.
But by no means are the Steelers satisfied with where they are right now.
Per Ian Rapoport via Dov Kleiman, there is mutual interest between them and linebacker Myles Jack, a former second-round draft pick in 2016 who had decided to retire just prior to this season.
Just before his retirement, he said he wanted to go to trade school to become either an electrician or a plumber.
Update: #Steelers and free-agent LB Myles Jack have mutual interest in signing, per @RapSheet

Jack spent his first six seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before signing with the Steelers prior to last season.
In 15 games with the Steelers in 2022, he put up 108 tackles (62 solo), three tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits.
Jack then signed with the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles during training camp before deciding to call it quits — at least for the time being.
Pittsburgh ranks 17th in passing touchdowns allowed and 27th in passing yards given up, and their rushing defense has also been a problem, so a capable player such as Jack could help at least somewhat.
Jack is just 28 years of age, so if he’s in game shape, he should have plenty left in his tank.
